Today’s NYT has a great column about jazz (especially jazz from the 70s on) and how blogs are playing a role in creating more interest in this music. Highly recommended!

I was talking with a friend last week about Mingus. I saw him just once in 1973 at Williams College. Turns out he spent some time ensconced at SUNY Buffalo around that time.
Well today another friend turned me on to this YouTube vignette.
The next time someone tells you that your band plays like a bunch of girls, take it as a high compliment!
