Beatrice

One day I’d like to do a gig where every song we play is a woman’s name. “Simone”, “Jeannine”, “Dolores”, you get the idea. The first (or last) tune would have to be Sam River’s “Beatrice.” Here’s a version by the Jason Parker Quartet:

My 35mm camera has been unused for at least ten years, and i haven’t joined the DSLR age just yet. I miss the smell of darkroom chemicals, dodging, burning in.

OTOH, I carry a camera everywhere I go. Well, it’s really an iPhone. I think of it as a phone, a hand-held computer. Rarely as a camera. But I came across a portfolio of iPhone photography recently, so I’ll have to focus a bit more. Focus, get it? Oh yeah, can’t really focus the camera. But it can handle a bit of onboard processing.

So here’s a photo of the daisies currently abloom in my yard. Surreal cool…
