Tweetie for iPhone

Tweetie 2 Icon The first version of Tweetie for iPhone was a great Twitter client, best of class at the time. Other Twitter apps have been improved beyond what version 1 offered in various ways, but Tweetie was still best overall. It was so good I preferred using the iPhone over my computer for reading and tweeting. The iPhone version of Tweetie was better than the Mac version.

Tweetie version 2 blows version 1 and everything else away! There’s so much they got right it’s hard to explain. I have a couple of quibbles with the new version that are so minor, so deep, deep under what most users would ever notice, that I’d look like the anal retentive I must surely be.

Suffice it to say, if you’ve got an iPhone, pay the damn $2.99 for Tweetie. It’s fantastic!

My 35mm camera has been unused for at least ten years, and i haven’t joined the DSLR age just yet. I miss the smell of darkroom chemicals, dodging, burning in.

OTOH, I carry a camera everywhere I go. Well, it’s really an iPhone. I think of it as a phone, a hand-held computer. Rarely as a camera. But I came across a portfolio of iPhone photography recently, so I’ll have to focus a bit more. Focus, get it? Oh yeah, can’t really focus the camera. But it can handle a bit of onboard processing.

So here’s a photo of the daisies currently abloom in my yard. Surreal cool…

bblurred. what’s that all about? while i miss the smell of the darkroom (it’s been years) and covet the right dslr, my main, only camera these days is an iphone. the photo quality is not high, you have to be a little inventive.

awhile ago i snapped the button (no tactile sensation!) while my index finger was just under the lens. the image was chopped off, blurry, and, voila, an idea was born: see if we can intentionally mess up the image and end up with something approaching art.

so, we have the bblurred series on flickr. only eleven images so far including this one, but i’ll keep adding as i go.

Nice day today in Palo Alto. 72º on Groundhogs Day! I went for a walk and came across this image. Nice!

life is a series of adjustments

stanley clarke, the great american bass player said (perhaps quoting someone else who really said it): “life is just a game. there’s many ways to play. all you do is choose.”

as it turns out, life is a series of adjustments…

I took this photo while walking around in the Palo Alto Baylands. The blimp was headed to a landing at Moffett Field.
