Other Twitter apps have been improved beyond what version 1 offered in various ways, but Tweetie was still best overall. It was so good I preferred using the iPhone over my computer for reading and tweeting. The iPhone version of Tweetie was better than the Mac version.

Tweetie version 2 blows version 1 and everything else away! There’s so much they got right it’s hard to explain. I have a couple of quibbles with the new version that are so minor, so deep, deep under what most users would ever notice, that I’d look like the anal retentive I must surely be.

Suffice it to say, if you’ve got an iPhone, pay the damn $2.99 for Tweetie. It’s fantastic!

Channeling my inner Mario Batali! Let’s just say lunch at Cacciucco in Sausalito was excellent!

<img src="http://postbop.com/uploads/l-640-480-2572c3c0-272d-48a4-b3f5-742771083611.jpeg"" style="width:300px; height:225px;" title="Lunch with MM: Salsicce e Fagioli" alt="Lunch with MM: Salsicce e Fagioli" />

Of course, the conversation was even better. It’s funny how we argue about things, then I go home, think, think some more, and benefit from it all. If only there were no calories involved!!

Today we considered the merits of Twitter and the like. One way to think of Twitter is drinking through a firehose. All that information, all that noise, right there, right now. And now. And now. It’s always there. Like, right NOW! Is that good for the drinker? Now. Is that good for society? And, you know, now.

Another view: don’t drink from the firehose. Surf on top of it. Scan as if reading the newspaper. Take what you need. Twitter’s running 24/7, but you can turn it on and off when you want.

There are other views, of course. The bottom line is things are changing and we all get to choose what to use and how to use it.

Did I mention I love brussels sprouts?? Teeny, tiny cabbages. Excellent!
